Ok, so I'm flying to Aussie tomorrow & am starting to freak out about how I'm going to keep Matt entertained for 3 1/2 hours!! He never seems to want to sit still for more than about 10 minutes so I don't know what he's going to be like for that long. Anyone have any great tips for travelling with toddlers??

backpack full of small toys. Let him unpack it and sort it out. then when he has juice pack it all back in. He will have fun unpacking stuff the whole time.

Other thing is a megasketcher. McKayla is a really active kid but this thing will let her sit and play and give me peace.

Get some $2 shop toys and wrap them up for him to open.
We took a little stamp kit from the warehouse and Ella and another baby on the plane enjoyed stamping themselves (washable ink of course! lol).

oh and make sure you have lots of snacks packed!
and if he drinks milk in a bottle then take two bottles filled with milk on the plane, one for take off and one for landing. or water..

Oh good ideas! I was planning on taking some books for him because he loves to read but the mega sketcher & stamps sound like they'd keep him entertained too. Think I'll have to swing by the $2 shop on my way home tonight!

Be careful with the amount of fluids that you take...
Just got back from Aussie and they are being pretty anal about it..
Everything has to be in each container that is less than 100ml (!!!!) and it goes into a plastic bag tht is 20cm by 20cm.....

read here for more info....

If he is having formula then take the bottle empty and ask the staff to fill it well before you want it as they usually fill it with very hot water.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

well at least if he runs away from you you know he wont be able to go too far...check with the airline what sort of stuff they provide too so you dont have to take as much with you.

Eugh I'd forgotten about those new rules for liquids. It seems a bit over the top.

LOL- not worried about him running away - more terrorising the other passengers. Especially as he's decided it's cool fun to make a high pitched squealing noise now!!!
