We've decided that we're going to set up a raffle for our friends and family to guess the DOB and weight of bubs so that we can start a bank account for baby.

Help with some qu's please:

How much do you think is a reasonable price to charge? (I was thinking maybe $2 or $5?)

What is a good prize? Some people have suggested a bottle of the winners favourite alcohol to the value of $50?

Any ideas appreciated. After friends were thinking of doing it just as a joke, it got me thinking that it would be a good way of starting bubs financial life (yes, I'm a nerd!). All of the people we've talked to so far think a raffle's a good idea, just have to get the final details.

I would suggest a bath/pamper pack or choccies since pg women can't have too much wine... a just in case thing.

What a awesome idea, $2-5 sounds reasonable and a prize to the value of $50 is perfect. What a great way to get your family and friends involved.

Emz we have done this and have charged $5 per person. They can guess, sex, dob, weight and time of birth! The money get puts into a "cashin" plastic moneybox elephant that we got from the ASB and is to be put into the babies bank account when its born!

Only difference is there is actually no prize for the person that gets the closest guess! This has been a ritual for all our group of friends babies born so far, so it all works out even-stevens in the end, and family are more than happy to contribute to their new grandchilds/neices/nephews bank account!

Some of our friends that haven't had children yet - you should see their guesses for weights, some are the lightest weights ever and others think its a giganta baby!
