   Hi everyone =)
Im new to this so not too sure how things go around here but just thought i would let you know that im 18 years old, down in the south Island and found out last Wednesday that im pregnant...Im 7 weeks at the moment and me and my partner are really excited, i wana go and buy some baby clothes, nesting settling in lol , but we wont know the babys sex untill end of september/start of October aye. Hey there. This is my first time in Oh Baby. I'm a newbie too. Just found out yesterday that we're pregnant! Been trying for almost a year, so I'm SO thrilled. I couldn't quite believe it so I took like 2 tests and another one at the doctors.
Completely understand the whole jinxing thing...I'm only 5 weeks pregnant so we're not even telling family at the moment. It's nice though, having a little secret between my husband and me. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it all works out and we get our little bubba..healthy and happy!

i only bought one singlet and put in on my husbands side of the bed cos he didnt qquite believe it (we'd been trying for a while) other than that, as far as clothes and stuff we didnt buy anything else at all till afer 12 weeks becuase generally ppl end up with way too much stuff half of which never gets worn and its amazing how many people come out of the woodwork and give you heaps of stuff you werent expecting. a friend of our gave us ALL of her sons clothes till the age of 2!! i did however write lists and check out prices on cots and prams and look at stuff though. its too exciting not to and then you get a good idea of bargains and the coolest stuff :) good luck and congrats!!! |

Bubie, there is an old wives tale that my mother always uses and it ALWAYS correct.
If you get a ring and a piece of thread to make a pendulum and get someone to hang it over your belly, depending on how it swings is supposed to say what the gender is.

So make sure it is still and steady to start off with and the person holding it has a steady hand.
If it swings back and forward it's a boy.
If it swings in a circle it's a girl.

It worked for me and was correct but remember it is only an old wives tale.

Sometimes it's just better to wait for your scan and find out. There are plenty of other things to do before the 20 week mark.
