I'm heading out to the toy sales in a few hours to layby some toys for Alex for Christmas, but I'm not really sure what he'll be into in six months time!
 Any suggestions?

Yeah a trike might be a good one. As it will be summer what about something for outside? Swing? Slide? (not sure how much they are)

so we have got for Ella for Christmas...a playhouse, little people stuff (kmart had a good price on some little people building blocks), a doll, and we found from kmart a kids CD player with some CDs (she LOVES music). Also picked up an art easel which we have started using now. |

At 18 months old Ella got some Duplo (Lego) blocks, and they were really appropriate for that age - she loves them, and they look to be a favourite in the house.

The best investment in toys for our boys were wooden coloured blocks and duplo/lego. They're the only thing I won't give away even though our youngest is 13 - he still pulls them out from time to time.

Although I have two boys at 18 months, they were both really different. jake loved the duplo, wooden blocks and ride-ons. taine on the other hand loved those big Tonka trucks, tractors etc.
Musical toys were also big hits.
We're going on a bear hunt - our favourite ever book
and Brown Bear brown bear what do you see - were the most popular books for that age in our house.
