Bella's 13 1/2 months old now & still breastfed twice a day. I want to drop the morning feed, but she absolutely flat out refuses to drink any milk from a cup. Water's no problem, but if she sees me put milk in there she won't even try & drink anything. If she doesn't see what's in there, she'll take a mouthful & then just screw up her face & not have any more. I've tried EBM, 3 different types of toddler milk & cow's milk. I've tried giving it to her both warm & cold. She has quite a bit of milk with her cereal & will eat cheese & yoghurt, so would you just not worry about that morning drink or should I keep persevering?? I never had this problem with Matt - he loved having milk in a cup & still has a cup every morning!!

If it is the cup that she usually has water in that might be the problem. Dominic, and this is common to a lot of babies, won't drink anything but milk out of his milk cup and won't drink milk out of cups that he has water in.

Michaela flatly refused to drink milk from a cup until I started drinking it every afternoon, then she decided she wanted a cup of milk every afternoon too.

Cooper is the same, won't drink milk from his Nuk cup, but will drink apple juice or water quite happily. Soooo I got him a Nuby bottle with a sippy teat, and slowly but surely he's starting to drink from it. I would give it up for awhile and try again, or try a different cup.

Never had a prob with Jake he drinks whatever out of whatever but he'd been on the bottle for awhile. Might be coz she doesn't wana give up the boob they're clever - she might realise that taking a cup means no more mummy. Hope it sorts itself out!

Jack hasn't had a bottle or cup of milk since 13 months - he flat out refuses to drink milk by itself these days. I have been told by his paediatrician not to worry as long as he's getting his calcium/dairy intake everyday, it doesn't matter if it comes from milk, cheese, yoghurt etc. So my boy just has milk on cereal, a tub of yoghurt and cheese everyday to make sure he has enough.

Thanks guys. I tried her with a different cup this morning, but she still wasn't interested. She gets loads of dairy from other sources though, so I think I just won't stress about it.
