Topic: Can jabs cause a reaction a day later? Posted: 01 February 2007 at 8:58pm |
Ben had his jabs at 11.30 yesterday and I was stoked because he was completely fine afterwards but this evening he has a fever and a slight rash on his tummy. Its not a huge fever, 38.2 but I'm wondering whether its a delayed reaction to having his imms? Does anyone know if that is possible?
I worry so much when my babies are sick

Yes it is Just give your nurse a call and she'll tell you if there's anything you need to do.

Yip. Even up to 2 weeks afterwards it can be due to jabs. My daughter is always fine untill the next day.
And please take him to a dr if that fever keeps rising.

Mel, Caitlin ALWAYS reacts to her jabs (has to have them all done in hospital). Our Dr has told us anything over 37oC is off to hospital stuff (not meaning to scare you! That's just for Caitlin).
Let us know how Benjy gets on

Ella was off-colour on days 2 & 3 (but not so much on the day) after her second lot of imms, so if it's a reaction (sure sounds like it), it doesn't necessarily start on the day.

Hooray, thanks for the replies!
Benjy is back to normal and bright as a button this morning.
Darn injections, I've only every experienced slight fever and grumpiness on the day of with Ella and Benjy up until last night so it was a bit freaky.
Thank goodness they're over with for a while now!
