Did anyone watch 20/20 last night? It was about children with Gender Identity Disorder...quite sad and amazing to think that 2 year olds can feel so unhappy in their bodies...
Anyway, what I'm more amazed at was the promos for NEXT weeks 20/20 program which is about sick-o men who live with "real dolls", which are anatomically correct silicone women that they have sex with etc... Soooooo gross and the guys are totally crusty which is probably why they can't get real women but ugh...they were showing one of the guys making out with his!!!

Ewww I nearly died when that guy started making out with his doll!
Oh and the one about the transgender children was so sad. I got a bit teary when the little girl Riley looked so sad and then her face lit up when the reporter said she was a very pretty little girl.

I missed it (DH wanted to watch Hotel babylon) but I now wish I could of watched it. I was trying to work out from the ads how a person so young could know these things.
That guy with the doll, i'm sure he has been in the NZWD so i'm so watching that next week to see if it is.

The transgender children was so sad. It was so heartening to see their parents so proud and supportive of them though, and willing to do whatever it takes to make their lives easier. So many others grow up without that love and support.
Ugh, I was cringing watching the promo for next week!
They must have fantastic imaginations, I just couldn't get my head around having sex with a doll!?!

I didn't see the previews about the doll thing, but I watched the segment about transgender kids, and it is something close to my own heart despite being something I don't speak of often - having had a couple of friends who are transgender and knowing what they have gone through. I guess it just reinforced to me the determination to support Erin if that's how she ends up feeling when she is older, so that she knows she still has that love no matter what her sexuality / gender orientation.

There was something on Dr Phil about families who were struggling with someone in the immed. family being transgender etc... although maybe there has been something on Oprah as well? Not always home to catch Oprah (as much as I like her).

There was also someting on Dr Keith Ablow as well....
One poor person was born like a hermaphradite. Their organs were a bit ambiguous and a dna test showed that they were in the middle. This person grew up a boy, had a sex change, breast implants the whole works to become a woman. She then had two marriages.... and was also a stripper. no one was the wiser... but she still felt the odd one out. So she is now living as a he, but still has his lower privates as a she. Was interesting.
There was also a man who married. He then started cross dressing with his wife. She thought it was abit of fun. Then he told her that he wanted to live as a she. The wife was actually ok with it. But the wife does not want "his" privates to change.
