Awww, I semi know how you feel, most of my friends in the past year seem to have all moved to wellington. Although I have a couple still here in Palmy I miss the girly shopping etc hehe..

We do have Palmy get togethers... although not overly often.

Hmm maybe we should have another meet up then... I'm not pregnant but was about a month ago now I have another little boy.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Do you post on this site wen something is coming up? what sort of things do you do? iv only just found this site so am pretty impressed with getting such a quick response!!

it sucks on a weekend wen i get a txt or whateva from my mates back home telling me what they've been up to; shopping, pubs/clubs etc!! they dont do it to rub it in but it can feel that way!

my boyfriend tries to help- he bought me 2 kittens to cheer me up ova xmas which was cool!!

Hi Katy - I'm a Palmy one too.  I know of Bainesse... all's I can say is I hope you've got a car!      How are you finding NZ?  Been here for long?  Yep - we have a thread here about Palmy get-togethers... check it out sometime!  You're SURE to hear when the next one is (OK like Stacey said they're not all that frequent, but hey - we have them!).  In fact there's probably something there already, I saw it up but just haven't looked in yet.  They're not in the same place every time, there's been one at McD's, one at the Esplanade, one at Bec's house...

Plunket groups are a great way to meet other local mums... though it's a bit early for that for you I guess!  Have you got an antenatal group starting up soon?  Very worth it.  Some of them take off as a social thing afterwards, some don't... fingers crossed you get a good group eh!  All the best for the rest of your pregnancy, too.

Andie

hi andie and becs, thanks for your replies! we've been in nz since june 2006 and are loving it. like i say its just a lack of a social network for me that i find hard. so i will def be up for the coffee morning thing. i may have the little girl i nanny with with me so it would be good for her too. i have ante natal classes starting in may (21st i think)at the hospital so hopefully that will help too. im just quite shy really and find it hard just to go start a conversation with sum1!! crazy huh!?

hi there i'm a palmy mum too, am just as shy in person i think.. put us all together and sometimes it can take a little bit to warm up - only reason it doesn't take so long now is that we have done it a few times. Anyway definately antenatal groups can help - the ladies on here are great too. And is there another meet up in the pipelines..? might have to go have a looksee... lol, welcome. nice to be recruiting more palmy chicks. he he.
