am thinking about buying some vitamins for Jake and Taine. they seem to be getting sick recently so am considering options. BUT my doctor in gisborne told me that she believes them to be unecessary, especially as my kids aren't fussy eatres.
So do you give your children health supplemtns? if so, which? and do you think they have made a difference?

I've started giving Nyah Calcium tablets, the reason for this is because she suffers from horrendous growing pains (to the point that she screams in pain and there isn't alot we can do for her) and we are hoping that they will help her with the pain, as she isn't a milk drinker at all.

Nah we don't bother. The girls seem to eat a well-rounded diet and I figure if I gave them supplements, they wouldn't be as hungry for the good types of food because their bodies would already have enough. So then they'd want to eat but not need any nutrients from it, so just want rubbish.
Or so's my opinion!!
btw I don't have supplements either. DH does, at times, but he notices a difference so that's cool. For me, I don't see the need but I do take iron supplements and the like when pg but that's after having blood tests and stuff.

No we don't at the moment but Neosha is only little yet. I always had Vit C as a kid and teenage multi vits at high school but then I was a vegetarian so I guess it was needed.
Lizzle are you in Gisborne????

I am actually looking for an immune booster for Olivia (not floradix though ) rather than a multivit. I have been taking a Garlic, Echinacea, Zinc and Vit C supplement when I started getting Hubby's awful cold and it really helped (IMO) so something like that for when Olivia is sickly would be fantastic. I agree with the others who have pointed out that with a well rounded diet there is no need to supplement. Immune boosting to me is different though.

Yip I do. She is on iron (I think it is called incremin) but I only give it if we have a week of her not eating meat. (which is rare these days)
She use to be on a liquid multivitamin and not on the tablet. The kiddy one in the shape of an animal with a lion on the bottle. (sorry too lazy to go to the kitcen to get it)

I give my kids "immunofort" in winter. Its got a whole lot of different vitamins and minerals in it to help boost immunity. The pharmacist recommended it to me but I'm not convinced. We've had so many bugs this winter its ridiculous!
