Topic: AAARGH! Had to take Andrew to Emergency. Posted: 05 July 2006 at 10:50pm |
We've had drama today.
Andrew the Adventurer managed to slam a door into a heavy glass light fitting which fell the metre or so from the wall directly onto his forehead and nose. He is now sporting a huge lump on his head and what looks like, but isn't (thanks to confirmation at North Shore Hospital this evening) a broken nose. It's complemented with a yellow/purple/brown black eye. After removing everything slightly dangerous from the room below 1.5m a few months ago when he became mobile, I didn't think to remove everything off the walls too. My nerves are shot and I'm thinking of buying him a helmet and face guard tomorrow. He's asleep (which I can confirm after sending hubby in to check on him every five minutes or so) so I'll take a photo tomorrow.

Ouch! P{oor little man, and poor you! It seems to be much harder on the parents than the little ones themselves.

Oh Maree!
Really unfortunate. I'm sure even if you remove everything from the walls that he'll just find something else to hurt himself with. (Argh accident prone toddlers!)
Hope he's feeling better today and I also hope that you aren't feeling guilty about it. Lotsa hugs to you both.

LOL I know his mum would be the best person to report on it, but Andrew is definitely coping extremely well - bright as a button and very cute as always (Had dinner with Maree & co. last night, hence the photo.)
And yes Roksana, due tomorrow, have made a quick report on the Due in July thread - doesn't really look / feel as if Erin is going to arrive on time (tomorrow), which is a little frustrating.
If things start happening though, and I can't update myself (at least in the early stages), there are a few ladies who will be getting a txt or three !

lol didn't see you on here yesterday - nor jes, so thought you both may have popped, but obviously not.
Wow, Andrew - those are some neat battle wounds - funny how they do just bounce back.. i think the scars stay with the parents much longer.
