Soooo... maybe a random topic but I'm REALLY wanting to get this done, especially now that it's winter. I am so over spending money on waxing all the time and am thinking this sounds good. Has anyone had this done? Or is getting it at the moment? Any recommended places in Auckland from those in the know? Also, we are ttc at the moment - does anyone know whether this is safe should we be lucky enough to get pregnant?
TIA

Lol Redbedrock and Kels (I think it is meant to be slightly painful so don't know about you guys being able to drink coffee during it )
Thanks Peachy. Yeah, I know its going to be expensive but when I think what I've spent in waxing and what I'm probably going to spend... Do you know about whether its safe during pregnancy?

Lol, of course they would! I hadn't even thought of asking but that would make sense. Thanks I'm calling them tomorrow. Got a couple of places to check out but they're all ones I've found on the net. Recommendations are WAY better

It hasn't been proven to be safe during pregnancy so I stopped having mine as a safety precaution and now have no spare money for it otherwise I would be getting so much more done.

Doesnt hurt very much at all, it feels much like being flicked like a rubber band and isnt really very tender afterwards, at least not like waxing (I was having underarms done)

My friend who is middle eastern gets it done regularly and has been for years. She's had it on her eyebrows and sideburns (or whatever the female equivalent is) arms, legs, bikini and underarms. She's virtually hairless now! (in those places of course, lol) She said some areas are more painful than others, but she keeps going so I think the benefits must outweigh the pain.

Eventally it is permanant but there can be several hairs per follicle and you have to get them at the right growth stage to kill them so can take a few treatments.

Yeah eventually its permanent.
My friend has only been getting it for years because a) she's middle eastern and has lots of very dark hair which can apparently take more treatments to get rid of, and b) she is getting heaps of her body hair removed. All up her arms and legs, all her sideys and heaps around her bikini area.
It must be costing her a fortune!

I go to Face & Body in Titirangi, there is also a Blockhouse Bay shop now too.
I have never had IPL but think it would be worth it. My beautician is lovely and she does IPL.
