I think I am the only one. We don't have them, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE watching them. Makes me feel excited for this coming part of the year. They don't seem to bother my kids or animals. I will be sad if they ban them.
As you were.

I don't mind them, think it should be just one night though and thats it. Don't mind if people have them at home either as long as they are sensible about it, not like the dickheads at the back of us who were still setting them off at 1am Sunday morning

i love them too!! i don't want them to ban them either, can you imagine how bad traffic would be at public displays then? it's bad enough at the moment around home with the roads closed around new brighton for the pier display......my opinion only though i took jack down to the beach and we watched the pier ones, he absolutely loved it!!
people in our area are pretty good though, a few started setting them off about 8.30 and then after the pier one finished they started again but it was over by 10.30pm
our dog wasn't really bothered by it and the cat was locked inside

I like them, but I must confess to being secretly afraid of them! I like public displays etc. but I hate when we have fireworks at home coz even tho Willie is really sensible I still keep thinking someone's going to lose an eye or get burnt.

I like watching them but dont like lighting them or anything. I would be happy if they were limited to public displays only although in saying that hubby took Kobe to the display at woodford glen on the weekend and one of the guys doing the display got injured and kobe saw. now all he talks about is the guy at the fireworks was on fire and is dead but they the ambulance took him to the hospital. we have tried to explain that he isnt dead (not sure why he has a thing about death at the moment)
Im scared of them too Emma which is funny cos bad things have happened at the public displays for me but its the ones at home Im scared of.

I love them and I would hate to see them banned. I don't like going to public displays.
Crowds get out of control and silly at things like this and there's always some mean old biddy behind you who tells you to shut up and sit down (lol!)
And the kind of people that would go to these public displays if there were no private fireworks would change from family groups to pretty much everyone. There were quite a few issues earlier this year when they had a fire display (I think it was) at the Domain -groups coming back through town and vandalising stuff and fights at the event.
Anyway there seems to have been a few incidents at 'nice public displays' this year.
So yeah, I know it's a pain because there's so many stupid people but please, please Helen don't ban them. *edited to add* My2angels that's horrible that your son saw that. Poor thing!

I like them too and hope they don't get banned also.
I'm not allowed to get for home though Jesse hates them not sure why so I went around to a friends place on Saturday instead we had a really good time.
