   Hi Everyone.
I have just gone through my 4th MC at 9w 1d but they have discovered an ectopic as (OMG twins this time) well on my right hand side. After a week in hospital with complications from a blotched D & C than a second op then readmitted with an infection they finally discovered this. They (Northshore Hospital) have decided to just monitor this with blood tests???!!!

What my question is, has anyone else had this, and what happened, does it just reabsorb?

Should it still be there after 13 weeks? Any advice would be great

 A xx

Hmmmm that sounds weird that they just wanna monitor you after all the crap you have been through.
I had an ectopic which was picked up at 5w5d due to intense pain. I was basically given 3 options..

 1. bloods and monitor (though the doc advised against this)
 2. take methotrixate which is a cancer drug. Basically it treats the ectopic like a cancer to expel it. There are lots of pros and cons to this though and not all people can have this
 3. surgery to remove the pregnancy and possibly the tube if it can't be removed without damage.

I ended up having the second option.

 Can you get another opinion??

   Thanks Kebaka
I'm waiting to go back to Greenlane (I was under their care to begine with, long story with the DHB systme in Auck) I'm not that happy to to "wait and see" with it. Had bloods this morning so will see what the results are. I thought it was odd that they are taking the wait and see approrach too. After the last 3 weeks treatment (or lack of) I'm not too confident in health system!

I can only think the only reason for the wait and see approach is that if your hcg levels are dropping at the right rate

Oh dear Pook :( you have been through a rough time. I don't know anything much about ectopics but just wanted to give you all my love and hope you get all this sorted soon. I found one M/C hard enough, let alone 4 with complications heaped on top. You are in my thoughts. |

   Hi Pook,
I just wanted to send my love and thoughts to you, and second what Merlinfluff said.

One M/C has completely broken my heart and never more than a few hours go by without me thinking of it, so I can only imagine the heart break of going through it multiple times.

I really am sorry and I hope you never go through anything so hard again.

Keep us posted and vent whenever you need too,

 Lots of Love

   Hi guys!
Went for another scan on Friday and what ever they had found a couple of weeks ago has now gone! Yay! HCG's still have not returned to below 5 though. It's nice to feel well again after three weeks of recovery!

I have not lost hope and looking forward to the next appointment at Fertility plas in November! Onwards and upwards I say!

Thanks for all your lovely messages xx

I'm so glad to hear that things are psysically back to normal! It sounds like you're doing so well with the healing process, You're obviously a very strong person.
All the best for your appointment next month and I hope that 2011 is the year you meet your first born
