I was reading another thread on here and realised that there are a few other families involved in marching.
My daughter is in her first season marching for City of Tauranga Pink Chicks U12. They are using this season to develop the team and are participating as a Kiwi team.

They are participating in their first competition tomorrow at the Links Ave Soccer grounds, Mt Maunganui.

I had custody and raised my sister for many years. She used to march for Campbell Demanser's City of Tauranga Junior/U16 team. DD and I travelled to Nelson when DD was around 16 months old to watch my sister compete in the Nationals. I think they came 3rd?

I didn't know that marching was still going. That's such good news as I was afraid it had died out and I always thought it was such a great organisation.
Good luck to your daughter for tomorrow Emma |

Marching family here too. My eldest daughter started at 5yrs in the kiwis and is in her first year in the U16 grade.  She is in a new founding team which is awesome. SHe used to be with Kensington guards and marched for their U12 for 5 years. She had a year off last season and missed it ALOT. My younger daughter is marching for the ferns team for the same club, they are U12age  but just starting out and not yet at the stage to compete so will probably go up to U12 grade next year....maybe lol Best of luck for your daughters first competition tomorrow, even thou she wont be judged it will still be nerve racking getting out there infront of everyone. Are you going to Nationals in Blemheim?? My daughter both marching tomorrow too at a local competition and we also have a team visiting from Akld so should be exciting. |

   Question for you Marching mums?
How do I go about finding information on marching for local teams in my area??? I know my aunt and cousins used to do it years ago, but I didn't realise there were so many clubs around

Well my daughter's first competition went really well. It was a lovely day and they all did so well. They met their penpals from Rail freight Cavaliers too.
Neeks, you could try contacting someone via the Marching New Zealand website. Link Kels how did your daughters go on Saturday? No, we won't be going to Blenheim. The team are only going to 4 competitions this year. We'll be in Rotorua the following year though!
