   Hi guys
Just thought I'd let you know, if you're thinking of going private for IVF or whatever, Fert Plus is significantly cheaper than Fert Assoc (about $3000 cheaper for IVF with ICSI), because they're a non-profit organisation.      |

Wow. I had no idea. That's quite a difference. Do you know what their success rate is?

I don't know Franky, but I think it would be at least as good as Fert Assoc because Fert Plus is part of the Auckland med school, so staff are engaged in research and fully up to date on new developments.

Holy crap catie! That's good to know!! Thank you! So it's around the $9,000.00 mark for ICSI? I had thought that the costs would be the same (duh me! Obviously!!). I've just received my bits and bobs for a publicly funded cycle in the mail.
Does that mean that you're going to do a cycle catie?

   Hi Ginger
IVF is $8,000 at F+, but I can't remember if that's with ICSI or not (I think it is). I'm waiting for my HSG day, then if that's clear we're gonna have two or three of goes at IUI. We have no public fudning, so we're gonna try the lower cost option first, esp as I have a high msc risk. So probably in January we'll have our first IUI cycle.

That's really exciting ... and nerve wracking!! I hope your results were what you were hoping for yesterday.
Normal IVF with FA is $10,000.00, so even if that's the cost of normal IVF with F+, it's still a significant difference. It leaves you a couple of grand in the budget as such for FETs if an IVF cycle goes bottoms up (what can I say? I'm a glass half empty sort ).
