We were sitting in Church this morning and the people next to us passed around some breath mints. We gave one to Briona and DH told her to put it in her mouth - three times because she kept fiddling with it.
Next thing he knew, she was crying and saying she put it up her nostril, pointing and everything and we have no doubt. *Rolls eyes at her lack of thought process at times*!!! We got her to blow her nose as hard as she could, some little crumbs of it came out but we didn't think we'd got it all.
So a friend of ours who is a GP was there and we checked with him did we need to do anything? And if so, should we go to our GP tomorrow or to after-hours? He said to go to A&E at the hospital (for the equipment - insert mummy cringe here

) and because there was some risk that she could inhale it when she lay down.
So I took her to A&E, thankfully the wait was just under an hour today! She was very good, she was even curious about a light (like a dentist's light) so I popped her up on the bed to have a look. She was thus perfectly positioned for the doctor.

Anyway she quite happily told him that she had stuck a lollie "up there" in her nose and he went to grab a light to look in. While he was out of the room, I explained to Bria that he was going to look in her nose and try to find the lollie so we could get it out. Then I realised how little she grasped of the whole situation: "And then I can eat it?" Haha she felt like she had missed out on her lollie because of her own actions!
Well, thankfully, the doctor couldn't see it anywhere. He asked her if her nose hurt and she said yes and pointed to the "entry point" the lollie had taken. Then he asked where was the lollie now and she said "I don't know" soooo clearly, to which he laughed hard.
Fortunately it was a breath mint not a hard-boiled lollie; it's designed to melt under warm, damp conditions (just not usually nasal ones!!!) So he gave her an appropriate hard time about recommending she use the "bigger hole" (pointing to her mouth) for all lollies in future and then we went home.
Hilarious!
