Jake started school today and had a great time. i took the day off. Lewis' parents sent Jake some money - $100 AUS for his birthday. pretty cool! So went to pick up Jake after school and we went up town to change it. went to kmart, got something small and jake decided to go to toyworld. I said specifically to him "would you like Mummy to hold your wallet" - "no" he says definitely.
we get to toyworld and "where is my wallet mummy?"
he had dropped it. with almost $100 in it.
So we backtracked and nothing. went to the police station and am now just hoping someone has handed it in, but i am so gutted for him. it was a huge amount of money, and he was planning on spending half anf saving half. he had even said he wanted to get something for Taine.
AND I can't say a word on facebook, cause I don't want lewis' family finding out. They would feel bad for him, and possibly send him more money. I guess the only thing to gain from this is that perhaps Jake will be more careful in future.

Oh stink! Poor Jake.
St. Anthony is the patron saint of lost things, I've offered a prayer to him.

thanks. he is sad, but when we got home his Auntie Sapphira had sent him a big lego police truck so that cheered him up quite a bit.

okay, now this was awesome.
jake was really upset about his wallet so I made up some story about a little boy leo (thank you ninja turtle poster) who had no toys, blankets, or shoes and he found Jake's wallet and used the money to pay for medicine for his baby brother.
Jake turned to me and said "i feel so happy now, Leo can have my wallet and money so he can help his brother", then "can I meet Leo so I can give him some toys - I have lots and he doesn't have any"
Am so proud of my gorgeous son.

Oh wow, that is so sad that he lost the money....can so imagine my son wanting to hold the wallet and then how upset he would be if he lost it. Great story about Leo though.
I really hope that someone turns the wallet in

Make sure you scan in the letter here - I'd love to see.
