   Hi guys,
Wasn't sure where to put this question...so I figured here was maybe the best place since you have all had babies and some of you might have PCOS...
I'm just wondering how long it took for your af to return after having a baby and/or breastfeeding?
I still haven't had mine back yet since having R he is 14.5months old I bfed him until he was 12.5months old (but before he stopped bfeeding he was only having one feed a day for about 6 or so weeks prior to this).
I know it can take a while getting your body back on track after having a baby and bfeeding and having PCOS just mucks ya body up that much more. But I just wanted to see how long it took for others AF's to return who are/were in a similar boat...

I didn't BF either of mine but do have PCOS.
With #1 it returned after 3 months.
with #2 it returned after about 6 weeks.

Both times though my cycle was all over the show going anywhere from 24 - 46 days.

I have PCOS (which I didn't know about till recently) and I BF #1 til 10 months, got it within 3 or 4 weeks of stopping and BF #2 for 2 years and got it back on her 1st birthday. After I stopped BF, it became irratic and I missed periods or had long cycles and thats how I discovered I had PCOS as they had been regular as until then!

Didnt miss a beat actually breast fed til 4 months and AF returned to reg 28 day cycle after 6 weeks of post partum bleeding, and seems now I do actually ovulate every month instead of randomly.
I had no problem getting pregnant either time so maybe Im just lucky

I have PCOS and with McKayla (after her birth) I got my period back almost immediately and on time (it was a bit wacky before her and after my miscarriages) I breastfed exclusively with her.
With Andrew I got one immediate back but after that it was weird. I would spot here and there but not much else (not on the minipill btw and was with McKayla). I got horrible cramps again but nothing else. And just had a period but it was so so so so heavy to the point that it was way more than any of my mc's. And I am exclusively breastfeeding him too and (he is on solids though) he is feeding more than M was.

Dont worry too much about it some woman take quite a while for it to come back and that is not even with the extra burden of having PCOS.

Thanks guys, seems I seem to be on the longer scale of things tho..mind you I shouldn't be surprised I have been known to have cycles 100+days I was hoping having a baby might of sorted my body into some sort of normality (even the slightest bit)...I guess not tho. Glad I haven't held my breath lol

I have PCOS too - AF returned 6 weeks after J was born (he was bottle fed). Normal cycle mostly then a weird 1 week on, 1 week off thing for about 6 weeks. Then it turned out we were pregnant again!

Lil miss is nearly 20 mths and I've had 2 AFs since she was born. I don't *think* I have PCOS, altho my GYN did suggest it when we were having difficulty conceiving the gremlins, and I have had ovarian cysts. I am still breastfeeding tho, and she feeds fairly frequently, so I put my lack of AF down to that and don't complain about it lol!
