   Hi there,
i'm getting induced next week due to pre elampsia and wonder if anyone knows any tips that can help organise my cervix/body to cope with the process a little more?

im a little worried about the process, and i know being not at due date can mean your body is just not quite ready for it and it can turn into a not so nice experience (i will be 37 weeks) so vaguely terrified actually lol..

i have read about some acupressure things you can do a few days prior, so i might give those a go

any tips/advice would be much appreciated!

relax... you need to make sure you arent stressed about it. i firmly believe that your mental attitude plays a big part and how you mentally prepare for the induction can help or hinder you.

relax and take lots of things to keep you occupied, I was induced for the same reasons at 38 weeks and was induced on the thursday night and didnt have Jayden until the saturday night, so a long time of nothing happening, which I wasnt really prepared for so take things to entertain you and you will have to do lots of walking around etc too - hope its nice and quick for you though |

Acupressure rather than acupuncture is meant to be fantastic providing it's done right. I had a friend use it who went into labour after a few hours before her DD.

Great Idea Marengo! I will be interested in seeing what advice you get.
All im doing so far is raspberry leaf tea and im considering EPO capsules internally as I have read they help soften the cervix.

I don't know if anyone mentioned it but after they er..apply the gel, they ask you to stay in bed for an hour + afterwards....take a book and make sure everything you need is at hand. Or someone to be your gopher. No one told me and i suffered 2hrs of infomercials! I know thats not really what you asked but its all i've got!

If you have a laptop, take that and DVDs, and make sure you have a support person (or 2, 1 for the day and one for night shift in case something happens lol) just to talk and walk around with.
I would suggest the EPO internally, it does soften things up a bit, its basically a milder form of the gel THEY apply.

Sorry thats about all I have for you. Oh and agree, expect a LONG wait, and then if anything happens quickly you can be pleasantly surprised.

i'll hopefully be able to get some epo organised, hopefully there is enough time between now and then for it to work its softening majic!
i'm glad that i'm aware of what happening so i can organise my head around it to hopefully be relaxed, i guess there is always trepidation when your going into the unknown..

ugh, infomercials.. i'll be sure to take some books/movies heh..

and have looked up some acupressure so will give that a go too! yay!

uhm, maybe try sitting on a swiss ball as much as you can between now and then to help the baby get in to the best position possible? Not sure how much that does to sodten your cervix though...
