ARGH! I have always been a great sleeper mostly, but lately i cannot get to sleep. seriously, i can be dog tired, and in usual situations as soon as i hit the pillow i'm out, but these days I lie there, awake for hours and hours and it's bugging me like mad. Thing is, i'm not really even finding i'm too tired during the day like i usually would if i had stayed up late in any other terms.
I don't drink coffee, or coke, or anything caffenated for the reason that anything like that keeps me awake terminally. I don't do the sugary choccy thing or anything like that very much (and well, it has certainly never bothered me before).

It's driving me nuts, I don't do anything stressful before bed, follow the same routine as always etc, It's out of nowhere and i can't think what on earth would be causing it!

Pick me! Last night I couldn't get to sleep for over an hour, after having gone to bed at 9.30 (was probably just drifting off as you were typing this lol). I think cause it's lighter and warmer?

Yeah I've been having trouble sleeping recently too. But I do drink way too much coffee, and I am stressing out about a lot of stuff as well so that won't be helping. I hate it that I feel so tired when I climb in to bed but then my brain just won't switch off, then I lie there getting angry cos I can't go to sleep, which in turn doesn't help with getting to sleep.

Yeah I'm suffering too. But in a different way. I think its because while I was preggers I was getting up minimum 4 times a night, sometimes up to 8 times! so my body doesn't know how to stay asleep now without the aid of one of DH's sleeping pills. So I spend half the night awake trying to go back to sleep. It sucks ass!

I'm a total insomniac too, I've always been a night owl, apparently even as a tiny baby. I could happily stay up all night, but then I struggle to function the next day. Last night was a particularly bad one coz I knew I had to get up really early, and I guess I was subconsciously worried about Sienna getting grommets this morning, even tho consciously I wasn't worried at all.
I'm another one that takes drugs to help me sleep, altho I refuse to go near benzos, atm I am taking a combination of antidepressants which have a sedative effect.

Yeap, I've had insomnia problems since Elle was about 3mths old. It was very severe for several months and I survived on about 1 to 4 hours sleep per night for 6mths. I now go to sleep ok but have not slept through the night for about 17mths. I wake around half a dozen times per night even though Dd sleeps through.
Hugs to you! I hope it passes!

I've been an insomniac since around the age of 10. Some nights it will take me up to 3 hours to fall asleep and I'm usually awake for a good hour again if I wake up to go to the loo (and god dammit don't you know it I've got a really bad bladder). My mum's naturopath; I think that's what she is, sent me off to the health store to get 5HTP. It's brilliant and non addictive. It gets me to sleep but I don't feel like hell in the morning. It's about $50 dollars a bottle but it is worth it and I only take them when I'm desperate or I know I'm going to have a bad night.

OK everyone can come over to my place and I will dish out the nice "put you to sleep" drugs my lovely dr gave me. Trust me I have taken them for a week and every night I have had a decent nights sleep - going off them for a week now.. My dr was nice enough to give me a few repeats with them as well. |
