   Hello, just wondered if anyone has a special 'diet' they use to help or have heard it will help in conceiving or other things? I've read there's been study's on women who eat more protein than carbs who have had a higher conception rate (17% vs 83%). And I've read about women who eat probiotics during early pregnancy to help prevent allergies in the baby, something about introducing live bacteria in early growth prepares the immune system. Anyone else got any tidbits of information? I don't need facts, I'll try anything so long as it's not crazy     |

   Another one I've heard is berries are good for swimmers, and they take 70 days to be 'made', so his diet should be considered about 2.5 months before conception.

   Oh I'm the queen of this haha!  Before conceiving my DD everything I put into my gob was researched as good fertility food. Blueberries on my cereal Walnuts, sunflower seeds, almonds and brazil nuts (for husband too) Kiwifruit Lots of fruit and veges, especially broccoli  Fish and tuna a few times a week Cut out coffee Still had the odd wine though And yes, I read that high protein diet was better for conceiving too. That's it I think    |

   ha love all of the suggestions above, doing all of these, plus acai berries, flaxseed oil, spirulina/wheatgrass/barleygrass/chlorella...
 "green with every meal" is my philosophy - meant to be good at getting alkalinity of your blood back to normal, which is good for processing of hormones in your system, helping your ovaries/adrenal system function properly and help with conception.
 
 queue Dr Libby if you want to find out more..."rushing women syndrome" and "accidentally overweight" are books worth a read!

   Thanks so much for all the tips everyone, I've been putting them to good use!   Now I just have to convince DH that we can start TTC. He wants to wait a couple of cycles after m/c. bah humbug.

   Hey Nellenium, I have done a bit of research and yep, everything these ladies have said are super good for you!   I have recently been reading Zita West's book and she suggest warming foods are better than cold foods.  So if you're going to eat salad, eat something warm with it.. don't drink iced drinks etc..  Not sure if it works but I found it an interesting concept!     |
