Do you believe the old wives tales/chinese gender predictor/etc.
Have they come true for you when you have looked back on your previous pregnancies or comparing what you were told you were having at your scan this time round?

 ie:
 chinese gender predictor
Heart rate of 140bpm Girl or 140bpm and below = Boy
Wedding ring test (moves in a circle = Girl & moves in a straight line Boy)
Carrying all round = Girl or carrying all up front = Boy
Or any more you can think of of?

Heart rate above 140 for girl was right for me. Wedding ring test was wrong, it said boy. Carrying all round was right for a girl too for me.

Heart rate, wedding ring and how I carried were all wrong. All pointed to a girl and I had a boy.

Nahh I dont, I think its just a lot of guess work and sometimes its right.
I think the only way to know for sure 100% what your having is to give birth and look lol
 Just my opinion |

   lol sheza!   your right though...
charli's heartrate at every mw appt was within 1 or 2 beats of jack's at the same gestation.
chinese birth chart was right for jack, but wrong for charli.
my tummy looked exactly the same both pregnancies, although jack was breech so maybe that's why |

Wedding ring one was right for Gina and wrong for #2.
I seem to carry all round so guess that's right both times.
Not sure about the heart rate though

Heart rate was right. Carrying was wrong - I carried all out the front.
The MW kept telling us it was a girl based on how the heartbeat sounded through the doppler and she was the only one who got it right. Mind you she did keep stressing it was only an old wives tale. Apparently if it sounds like a horse 'clip clip clip' it's a girl and if it's more of a 'doof doof' it's a boy.

   Chinese calendar wrong.
Ring test right.
 Old wives tales test, right.
Heart rate with last pregnancy, right. ( the heartrate fluctuates through pregnancy though so i think this was guesswork)
 Carried daughter all round.
This pregnancy out front. ( boy)

Food was the biggest for me, with my daughter i ate sweets, with my son i eat savoury. ( not that we are all the same)

I carried all round and I had a boy!
And the chinese gender prediction was wrong too.
We all thought Jack would be a girl (well except for one friend and DH) and we were even wrong. Screw mother's intuition! I was also told if you let yourself go a bit in early pregnancy (ie. can't be bothered shaving your legs as much as you usually do, don't wear makeup on the weekends when you normally would) you're having a boy. It was true for me!

i was paranoid..even when the tech said she was sure he was a boy it's the first thing i asked when we had him..lol:)
gender predictor wrong, heartbeat wrong until about 33 weeks, wedding ring test...wrong, carried out front- right. hair on legs growing less for boy - right... savoury food thing - right, hair growing on tummy for boy- right.
