   Hi Everyone,
I recently underwent a laparoscopy for endometriosis and developed a nasty gut infection which has knocked me for six and wondered if anyone has been thru something similar and achieved a normal pregnancy afterwards?

   Hiya, welcome to Ohbaby.
I had two lap surgeries at the end of last year and was cleared to TTC from Jan. Haven't got pregnant yet but I know a lot of lovely ladies on here have!
That sucks about your infection. I had a nasty bladder infection after mine when I was rushed back to the surgeon who did an ultrasound on me (he probably thought he had dropped his car keys in there or something ) but it cleared after some antibiotics.
Hope you are feeling better soon!

   Welcome to OB.
I've had 2 laps done but they were a year or so before we started TTC. I never got an infection so cant comment on that part but I fell pg 3 months after we started TTC only to MC then fell pregnant with Jackson 10 months after trying.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi, I too had a lap and dye surgery with mild endo removed. I didnt get an infection but I would think that the infection would be more localised to the skin and muscle/tissue and not the ovaries or tubes so pregnancy chances shouldnt be affected by it. Thats just my thoughts though. Have you spoken to your surgeon about the extent of your infection and if any scar tissue is likely to have formed, and also if your reproductive organs could have been involved.
I also got pregnant the month after my lap surgery after TTC for 23 months including fertility treatment for nearly a year, all the best!

   Hi guys,
Thanks for your posts. I actually developed Peritonitis after the 1st lap, they think I had a reaction to the dye (which I had a HSG scan 3wks prior) therefore, had to have a 2nd lap 72 hrs later to remove the infection. I'm slowly getting better after spending 9 days in hospital    ;-) I'm going to see my specialist on the 7th of May fingers crossed no more complications and I'll be able to achieve a normal pregnancy in the future.

Hi there, I have had 2 laps for endo in the last 5 years & fell pregnant one month after coming off the pill. My gyno said the best time to concieve is within the 12 months after surgery as things are 'clean' & 'ready', good luck!
