   hey anyone here have one?
I'm wanting to buy one and it's a toss between the ergo and the manduca.

But i'm leaning on the side of the manduca. I'ma plus size and 5 ft 9inches. And my hubby is just over 6ft and slim. Would this be comfy for both our sizes? Also, DD is chubby and tall - does this matter?

 Are they worth the expense?

 Any advice appreciated

Have a read of this http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=40620&PN=1 I really like my manduca, & most people seem to, but can't personally compare them cos I haven't tried ergo. Worth finding a sale or going 2nd hand perhaps.

You might be pushed to find one second hand, Manduca's sell pretty much straight away on TM, Ergo's hang around a bit longer - but not much :)
Where abouts are you based? if you can get to a slingbabies meet then you can try there....
Main reason I ended up with the Manduca is the Newborn insert is built in, and bubs is still upright, I also think you can use the manduc for longer - because the back extends more as you need it to.
Every part of each strap is adjustable on the Manduca, I tried ours today - but with the cat in it He thought it was great, was in there for ages before wiggling to get out!

I've got a Manduca and love it I'm a size 20, and my husband is a XXXL - the Manduca fits both of us fine and is easy to adjust to suit either of us.
Maybe contact your local Baby on the Move, they could offer a hire service?
A few places may have specials on them as it's baby-wearing week (ends today). I'd say a good price for a new one would be $200 - $210. They don't sell for much cheaper on Trade Me.

Different kind of plus size, but I'm still wearing my 22-month-old in my manduca at 11 days overdue and it's comfy for both of us. DH is currently a lot thinner than I, and it's easy to adjust between us.
Hiring it first is a good option if you are not sure - tweedle.co.nz and I think cheekycherubs.co.nz both do hires.
Love the idea of trying it with the cat |

I'm plus size and my husband is very slim. The Ergo fits both of us. You can get an extra extension strap for around the waist if it is too tight. I've found our Ergo to be very adjustable.

Manducas are awesome. See this Babywearing Wellington . Formeeting imfo, you'llbe able to try one out there.
Manduca also have the adjusable back panel the extends out. I xan carry my 3.5 old who s quite tall and mr 21 mnths. The Ergo panel doesn't extend.

I treated mysefl to a manduca for my birthday, and later sold my ergo The manduca is very very adjustable, and I like being able to cross the straps behind when doing the front carry, much more comfy to wear.

Organic baby in petone have a manduca you can hire for a week if you want to try one first :-)
It's $30 for a week ( or at least it was a year ago) and if you get one through them they take that off the price.

I LOVE my manduca. It is super comfy and easy to wear :-)
