well he always drinks all his bottles - granted he only has 4 bottles of 200mls each per day due to him sleeping thru the night (hasn't done the 5am wake up for a few days but didn't feed him then anyhow)
I just made his dinner - tried puried fruit mixed with baby rice, it was a small bowl full thought probably won't eat all, but he ate all of it and sure he would of ate more if given to him. so maybe I should give him another feed of solids in the morning. Got plunket on monday so will quiz her too.

Ella started having breakkie solids at 5 months, that and dinner just over a week later, and now at 6 months has 3 a day.  The idea has been to fatten her up though.  My MIL remembers giving her babies (she had many!) an extra solids feed every 2 weeks... so start on one a day, and 4 weeks later start on 3 a day, if that makes sense.

I have been giving Ollie 3 solid meals a day since 5 months of age also to help a little with his weight gain which has so far been great occassionally I might miss the lunch feed if he happens to be sleeping at that time.

Maya was on 3 meals a day by 4 1/2 mths, she just took to solids like a pro, but the gremlins have been on solids for a good six weeks and for the most part only have one meal a day. They're not big bottle feeders either, they have 6 feeds of around 150ml each per day but often only drink 100ml of the daytime ones. Tonight they had half a can of apples between them (the yummy veges Daddy made them were too hot and they were grumping) and ate it all so I made 30ml of formula up with baby rice and they ate about half of it. Normally they'd only eat the first bit so maybe this is a sign that they want more.
*waffle waffle* Just thinking out loud, sorry |
