I am looking at trying the Shettles Method to TTC a girl. I have read that you BD 2-4 days BEFORE ov. So to clarify if I am predicted to ov on CD10 then should we bd on CD6-8?

Hey Linzy, I havent tried the Shettles method or know of anyone that has but if thats what it says to do and your willing to give it a crack, I would say 6-8 are the days you want to BD. I hope you get the outcome you are after |

I was planning on trying it when we started TTC. But we ended up having a whoopsie 3 days before O and she is a girl, so it worked for me. And yes I would say those days will be right. Good luck

Linzy I've done a bit of reading on this as well as we would love a girl (would also love a boy too, but will try for a girl). I understand it that you BD every day from the end of AF and stop 2 - 4 days before OV is due. So for your cycle I'd be BD'ing CD4, 5, 6 and possibly CD7 as well.
One piece of info I did take from what I've read is, dont leave BD'ing till only once or twice. The little swimmers need to be released regularly IYGWIM We loosely followed it this cycle but instead of BD'ing every day we only BD'ed every 2nd and stopped 2 days before Ov. Here is my chart if you wanted to see. As for how successful it is, I will find out in a week or so, then hopefully in 4 months time.

 Good luck!

   Hi ladies,
Well I definitely believe in this method - I have known people know have tried it and got the sex they wanted.

I BD'ed the same day as I ovulated and am having a boy this time. But when I got UTD the first time (which sadly resulted in MC), I BD'ed 3-4 days prior to ovulation and that one was a girl.

A friend of mine recently had a girl and was trying for a girl - they BD'ed every 2nd day up until CD 11 (based on ovulation occuring at CD14).

 Good luck!!
