Ava is now 3 1/2 weeks old and she has started passing mucusy poos (stringy, snot like). They are stil mustardy in colour. Is this normal?

I actually asked about this the other day and Emma said that its usually when they have a snotty nose and swallow it and it goes into their tummies and they poop it out. I also asked my mum and she said all us four kids had it at some point,
So its nothing to worry about Its just babies cant blow their nose so it gets swallowed and pood out!

YUp, what she said! Sometimes Chiara has funky ones, but then she only goes once a week so I guess I gotta expect that!

Hi. Our baby did this from birth till she started solids. It started getting flecks of blood in it and we were referred to the specialist. Midwife, GP and nurses had never seen it before. It was very stringy and looked just like snot but there was heaps of it, not just the odd bit. She seemed to clear up once she started solids and the specialist hadnt seen it and did not know what it was either.
I would say that its fine but just keep checking it for blood then get your doctor onto it.
