Ok, so who understands how it works? I know it isn't like here where the person with the most votes wins...... So what are Electoral College votes and how does it work.
Basically, when will we know who is going to be president!! |

Every state has a certain number of seats depending on how big their population is. So the party who gets the most seats in one state, wins the state. Like California has about 35 million people in it, so they get lots of seats, where as a smaller state might only get 4 seats. There are certain key states that each party NEED to win, like Ohio and Pennysilvania.   The Democrats have just won Pennysilvania so it's a good sign.
It's a race to 270, and the number of seats in each state, combined make 270. Obama has about 102 so far and McCain has 49.

It's getting exciting! I LOVE the US election. Always been fascinated with it.

   Obama is up to 174!
 McCain is still on 49.

I hope this goes well. I'm going to be upset for the world if McCain gets in.

Barack Obama is what this world needs right now.

Looks like Obama will get Ohio, and that will make it nearly impossible for the Republicans to turn it around then. |

   YES!! Obama has Ohio.
This is such good news.   No president has won without Ohio.
 I'm so excited!

As long as I see Obama higher than McCain I'm happy!
I'm just concerned that the same thing could happen as did in the Gore/Bush race, Gore got more votes but Bush got in somehow?
