Easy to move carseats

Hi there,

I have called the usual stores and they all have such a different spin on things that I'm getting confused.!

Basically I don't have a car liscense and rely on Taxi's and friends to transport my daughter and I. (When we're not on the bus).
We need a car seat that is easy to move from vehicle to vehicle. My daughter is 9 months old and I don't think forward facing would be too much of a problem at this stage.

Does anyone have any ideas/experiences they could share with us?

Any feedback would be more than appreciated.

There are a few carseats that dont need tether straps. I think p&t make one- maybe try babycity. You could ring your local plunket and ask the car seat co-ordinator for advise.
It is recommended to have baby rear facing until they are 12kg or at least over 1 year. Isla is only just 12 kg now, and is 2 next month, so I guess there wouldnt be many 2 year olds rear-facing!

legally you dont need to use a carseat in a taxi... just a piece of useless advice..

however, i would def use one! and i cringe everytime i see someone using one without..

down here in timaru the plunket actually hire the seats to the taxi company.. perhaps check in your area to see if any taxi companies have seats?

otherwise i would go with something that isnt tethered, BUT something that you can get in tight enough without alot of effort.. but i would def go to plunket car seat coordinator and see what they would recommend..

i am also rear facing my son until he 'weights' out of it, he is going to be one on the 2nd november and i am not going to put him forward facing until we really really have to! :)
