I pulled it out straight away and it appeared to be fine then checked a bit later and it was turned off so put it on charge and it came on fine but showed fully charged then speakers didnt work then came right then the buttons wouldnt work!! then it turned off again and wouldnt turn back on! I put it in hotwater cupboard - do you think itl come right??? has this happened to anyone else??

Put it in some rice in the hot water cupboard. My little brother does that ALOT, and it always seems to work.
 Good luck!!!! |

Argh noooo!!! It might, just might survive. But if it happens again, don't turn it on whatever you do, just rip the battery out and stick it straight in the hot water cupboard until it's bone dry, then try it. A techie friend has put his through the washing machine a few times by accident, and told me that it's not the water that usually kills them, it's that the connections get fried the moment you turn it on while it's still wet. Worked for Ella's glow-e bear! I hope your phone works for ya.

Oh darn I worked for Vodafone for 5 years, it wasn't very often we saw a wet phone continue to work Some would go for a while, then just pack up. Some had a few issues (like you've described), some were bound for the trash Was the bath water fresh? No suds?
It seems the fresher the water, the "better".
The rice in the hot water cupboard trick was my method of choice when it came to giving advice. It can't hurt |

Oh, and if you can, write down all your contacts before it dies!

As a last resort try putting it in the deep freeze for a couple of days. I ressurected my phone which got soaked in OJ recently that way
A friends husband used to work for British Aerospace and this was there general reccomendation, works for most electronic things, but not all the time. If you have nothing else to lose try it. Mine works fine now, the keys are just a bit sticky thats all

Ug! 'tis probably screwed, but worth a go drying it out - make sure you have it turned keys-down so any excess water that may be in there can come out.

I'd say its screwed since you turned it off and then on again. They can sometimes be saved if they are left off and then dried properly before turning them back on.

Mine survived a trip thru the washing machine, altho there was always a strange shadow on the screen afterwards. A techie friend told me it lived coz it was turned off when it went thru the wash, apparently if it's turned on when it gets wet it fries the battery. I have no idea.

I have dropped one in the water while kyaking (sorry I can't spell lol) and it was switched off and survived lol and it was submerged for ages because I dropped it in the water then made my THEN boyfriend jump out and get it lol. We put it in the hot water cupboard for a few days before attempting to turn it on.
My other phone got wet from the rain while I was txting walking home in a storm and it was going on and off and then just died. Hot water cupboard never worked.

I agree with the others... the key is to leave it off.
The first was telecom and the second was Vodafone.

My mum spilt wine all over her phone and yup dead straight away lol.

I dropped my phone once in a sink full of soapy water and it didn't survive.
Hope you managed to save it.

I managed to toss mine across the room and into a cup of water... don't know how I did that. But it didn't survive because I turned it on straight away, which I didn't know was a big no-no with a wet cell phone, so even though it turned on initially all the contacts got fried.
Hope you have better luck with your phone!
