Ok so i have deiced to buy the anglecare monitor with 2 sensor pads. Now i dont really have the money to buy one new as they are $230 new in the shop, but i have however found one for $100. Now this one dosnt come from New zealand, it comes from Korea and has a 1 year warrenty.
What are your opions on me getting this one rather then the new zealand version, it still works the same way, but im a little concerned on what would happen if it needed replaced since it is from Korea ?

Is it off TM? if so maybe you could ask for opinions on the TM message board - someone may have tried it on there - that's if no one has on here...

Would you be able to hold off and save some money to buy one from NZ (new or 2nd hand)? Or get a loan from family?
I think I would be reluctant to buy one from overseas as if you have problems you'll pay $$ to ship it back... |

I say don't do it. I got sucked into that and it broke within two months and they never got back to me regarding warranty. Tuns out the seller had been reported and charged/ banned form selling things in NZ etc. I had to turn around and buy a new one from babycity so you are better off buying a NZ made one. Also if its NZ made the manufactures will fix it for you (at your cost if its past warranty but not as much as a new one 90% of the time) but they don't fix imported ones.. understandably. They are really helpful too.

I bought a secondhand one off a friend, she'd used it on her two kids, and it's now on my second child (so 4th child all up!) and it still works perfectly. Buy a secondhand one instead is my advice. |

I'd always get a new one tbh. Luckily, we were given our one cause we would have struggled to afford it but when it comes to anything safety related, I'd always buy brand new. $230 sounds quite cheap for the angelcare one..... when my sister bought our one it cost her $400???!! She bought it in Sept last year so surely they haven't decreased in price that much?! |

My one was $450 but its got the two parent units. I think the single parent unit ones are $400. OUCH! Good thing my mum came to the rescue.
