My DF and I would really like to TTC as soon as possible the only thing that could put our plans on hold is I am scheduled to go for a bone density scan in January, and I've already rescheduled it once.
I still cant fully make my mind up which way to go as the bone density scan isnt essential, but I dont want to annoy my specialist by putting it off again, because he will only see me during Januarys.
I've tried to weigh up the pro's and cons but I still come out confused.
A little friendly advice would be muchly appreciated |

Why can he only do it in January?
If it isn't important that it is done then I would just ttc now and see what happens. If it is important to your health then I would hold off but in that case I can't understand why it couldn't be done before January.
That was probably no help whatsoever |

I dont know why he only does it in January but every Bone Density scan I've ever had has been in a January and when I was postponing this years one he rescheduled it for next January after it had been rescheduled for September.
It's not something that is extremely important, I think it's just got more to do with keeping track of my bone density over time as I have a lower bone density than what is normal.

I might give him a ring and see if it can be arranged for in the next month or 2 (like thats likely to happen) but all I can do is try.

Yeah, try. If you can't get it earlier and he doesn't think it is important that you bring it forward then I would say you're ok to ttc.
I also wanted to say that I read your story in the loss section and it was hands down one of the most beautiful things I've ever read.

I tore my ACL (ligament in my knee) just before getting pregnant, I went to the specalist who said I needed xrays and MRIs, but couldnt go because I was PG, I ended up MCing a couple of weeks later and then had to decide whether to get the scans done and have surgery or TTC... I ended up putting off TTC for 2 months as after surgery you cant walk, on crutches for weeks and also needing months of physio... So figured it made sense to have surgery before having a NB rather than trying to juggle both. If there was another option rather than surgery then I would have TTC sooner (I was lucky that once the surgon decided I needed it I was booked in for 6 weeks after scan results came back)
Gah sorry, long winded...
If it was something non life threatening and you can do easily with a bubba, I would TTC if it would make life harder I would see the specalist before TTC...
 GL hun!

It's nothing life threatening or even crippling. The specialist just keeps track of my bone density over time. I dont really even know what for. I wont need surgery for it or anything because the issues with my bone density arent something curable.
It's definately something I can do with a bubba besause all I need to do is spend one day in Auckland visiting Auckland hospital and Greenlane.

The only reason I'm really unsure about whether to hold off on the TTC or not is if I do get up the duff I wont be getting the scan until 2012, if I cant bring it forwards.
