Is this normal? I have stopped BF a few days ago, and before that was only BF once a day for a couple of weeks. Since stopping, my boobs have not felt full or engorged at all, but just the last couple of days have started to hurt when I hold DS or hug people. What's going on?

are you still producing milk? my boobs were a bit sore after I weaned Ella and I could still squeeze milk out of them. You can buy a product called milk stop from the pharmacy, which I used for a little bit which helped it settle down (although I never stopped milk fully). |

I had no soreness until about a week after we weaned, we had also been doing one feed every 2-3 days.
I hand expressed and massaged twice a day, and it did go away after maybe 4-5 days. Just make sure you don't get lumps or redness, as mastitis is still possible! I would suggest trying to express as much milk off as possible, because the milk that remains in the breast is prone to infection (ETA: but obviously not so much that it keeps your supply up!)

I can still hand express milk now, which is almost a month since we stopped.

I don't think I am producing milk (the reasons I eventually stopped BF is due to ongoing supply issues), but have just tried hand expressing... not getting milk but a few drops of clear fluid, almost like colostrum...is that just the foremilk that's still there?

So glad I stumbled on this thread, I have exactly the same thing...I have the clear milky stuff too when I hand express. Will give them a good squishing in the shower, hopefully that'll sort it |

I still periodically have colostrum, almost 10 months after weaning I had sore boobs for about 3 days after, but gave Dan a quick feed (about 1 minute) and that was enough to drain it and for the pain to go away
