   Hi Thanks carmel.
Yep we went to Hamilton radiology to get ours done as they don't do them in taranaki yet. Well worth the money, ours costed us $95 as we went at 30 weeks. Got 2 printed pictures, about 7 on photo cd and a dvd of the whole scan. Very cool.
If they do it in Gisbourne they might do it cheaper or free if its your 20 week scan if your midwife refers you.
As for over seas I am pretty sure that they would do it there but cost unsure of.
Theres a place in brisbane 'QUEENSLAND ULTRASOUND FOR WOMEN that i found on the net by googling it. you could see if you can email them and see the cost involved.
I have posted a pic before but this is rhyley at 30 weeks gestation:

This place was suggested by a friend of mine in Brisbane.
Here's our wee man at 32 weeks:

There's a company in Aussie that does them purely so you can see the baby, can't remember the details offhand. Otherwise you'd need to see an Aust doctor to get a referral for the scan and without Medicare that can be pricey.
I got ones of the gremlins at 19 and 28 weeks and got some good images.

Do you think it's worthwhile getting one at the 20 week scan? The majority of you seem to have had them done at 30+ weeks.

Sally, I had one done at 20wks as well. It was pretty good, but the 32 week scan was better because you get a close up of the baby's face (unless they're being difficult of course!). If you have the option to have it done at both then go for it, but if you had to pick one or the other then I'd suggest holding off to 30+ weeks.

I agree with mikela as the 30 weeks one was so worth it - although I did not get one at 20 weeks just the normal scan then. But as she said if you can get it at both why not!

So I assume it's "standard" for everyone to have a scan sometime after 30+ weeks? If that's the case then I'll try & be patient & wait until then |

Nope, you only have a scan after your 20 week one if there is a concern about bubs presentation or growth etc. It's not standard. I had a growth scan at 36 weeks as Maya was measuring big and presenting posterior.

We paid for our as at the time i was not due for another one. So if you want one at 28-30 weeks you can only u arrange it and pay for it (normally approx $100)r
Little did I know i had to have more scans growth and breeched...
Oh you will have to put a pic of your scan on here for us to see someone asked if baby looked like scan - I think when Rhyley was born he did look like his scan. I so will be having another one if we got pregnant again.
