Is it common to feel these right down into your legs?
Edited to add: And I'm sick of this whole dyslexia gig !! The topic was meant to be "Another braxton hicks question" NOT "another braxton hicks contraction" !!!!!!!

how do you mean down into your legs? BH are normally over the top of your stomach I thought.

I was told they're more in the spot where you'd normally get period pain. In any case, I'm not liking these ones, they hurt ! Thing is, baby is moving a bit still, and there are no other 'bad' signs... just took a panadol to see if it helps. Am feeling it right from my bellybutton through the inside of my thighs to my knees just about.

sorry cant help you there, sounds a bit strange but Ive had heaps of strange pains with this pregnancy. I could be wrong but I thought BH were across the top and not normally painful, more tight which can be uncomfortable. What you descibe is closer to what my contractions felt like when I was in labour than what my BH feel like

They're not consistent or anything though, and like I said I can still feel a reasonable amount of movement from bubs. It's also hard to distinguish exactly which area it's affecting across my belly, because I'm getting a lot of pain in my ribs at the moment too. I hate sounding like such a moaner though ! Will give it a while longer and see how we go, I'm just hoping things settle down, I finish work in a couple of hours and the first thing on the agenda once I get home is a nap.

It seems to have settled down, am wondering if it is just a combo of my munted ligaments and the BH - will give my midwife a txt when I get a chance to breathe... has been flat tack today (*cough*atwork*cough*) |

have you talked to your midwife? the week before and when i found out i was pregnant (so 4-5 weeksish preg) i was having the same kind of pain that shot down into my legs.... it was weird. obviously mine werent happening with braxtons though, i was wondering if it was pressure on a nerve or somethin? i have no idea....
but hope it settles down for you soon jax.... man, your a worry! at least its an eventful pregnancy (mine is so far dull! lol, my first i was in out out of hospital with high B/P etc....feels weird to be so "textbook" so far...) GOODLUCK JAX!

Well to be honest, I still feel like things are 'textbook', as there have been no major overt problems... nothing uncommmon, you know? Things seemed to have settled down, I think it's just my ligaments stretching the more bubs grows.

Braxton Hicks are like your whole tummy tightening up ..going really hard then softening off!

Yup I know what they feel like generally, but this is a bit different so was wondering if many other ladies here had experienced it with the pain in the leg muscles. Have a feeling that it was just part of sitting for ages at work today, plus my ligaments being a bit "upset" in general with all the stretching out they've had to do LOL
