Hey there ladies (yes I'm back finally, been a lonnnnnnng few months with the kidlets) but anyway, I need to pick your brains.  Who here downloads music off the net?  I need to find a website please (other than limewire cos that causes problems on our pc) where I can download songs for FREE!!!!! Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated Cheers, Gaye |

Bummer that limewire causes problems - we couldn't live without it these days! I am not aware of any others, only ones that charge very little (there is a russian one, apparently).

DC++ does but you have to know a lil about music and hubs etc to use it properly. A lot of people get pissed off with it when they can't find a good hub to download from.

   www.albumbase.com
Absolutely free, whole albums, no peer to peer. The files are usually from rapidshare or megaupload and some of them have a 1 file a day limit but other than that, it's so easy, all you have to do is signup and that is free as well, and easy to use. I get all my music from here and have never had any problems.
It's not very well known and I think one of the only ones that are 100% free, but I'll share it with you. |

I have had millions of virus probs with "free" sites, and have spent lotsa $ getting my puter fixed, so not "free". I use ITUNES, which you do pay for, but you don't get "adulterated" files, and very quick uploading. Good luck! Let us know how you get on, I'm too scared to sign up for any others *just in case* so am interested to hear how it goes..
