   Hi
I just had a few more questions re: acupuncture for people who have had it before when ttc.
Did they check your tongue? Did you have to chart your BBT? Did you go to someone who didn't do either of these things? Just wondering about where I should go...some do these things and some don't and just wondering if it makes a difference.

 Thanks!

Yes, he checked my tongue, no he didn't even know I was charting. He could mostly tell from my pulse that I had a hormonal imbalance.

Yep me three - Tongue check and pulses checked both wrists
She also knows I chart so asked for a copy of my old charts and asks how my temps are doing etc, but isnt bothered if I dont temp (like this cycle)
The herbs she puts me on change weekly depending on where I am in my cycle and whats shes trying to fix ie I had alot of blood moving herbs that also warmed me up, regulated my Qi (think thats how you spell it) and alot of other things - there were about 10 different herbs all mixed to work together. Now Im on softer herbs that nourish a pregnancy (if that is to happen FX )
Also ask's alot of questions like thirst, hunger, bowel movements, AF and what its like etc etc etc.... quite funny the things I have described to her LOL

im the same as ladybee, i get asked all of the above and she checks my tongue and checks my pulse a few times each side during the session, i also take my charts along and she likes me to be doing this. she has offered me some herbal pills and so far i have not taken them mainly due to cost, and i guess i keep thinking oh this is my month then i wont need them anyway! My lady specialises in fertility and has alot of patients about this!

Mine checked tongue on first visit and lots of questions, maybe 30mins of questions about health, cycles, AF etc. she takes my pulse Qi a few times each session. Usually at the beginning (after each check in session), then again once I've had needles in for 30mins or so, then she usually adjusts needles, or removes adds some. Then checks my pulses again at the end.

Sorry just picking up on this topic. Can anyone recommend someone in AKL who does fertility acupuncture that is great. I know there are a few around that people go to but maybe some are better than others? It would be great also if they did the TCM herbs. Any recommendations appreciated, thanks.

DHi, Carly Frances does both acupuncture & Chinese medicine, check out her website carlyfrances.co.nz She has clinics in Grey Lynn at the Centre for Chinese Medicine (next to Harvest), and also at Motherwell in Mt Eden. She is also a midwife and specialises in fertility & pregnancy acupuncture. She's awesome but really busy.
Or, my acupuncturist is Suzanne & she also works from the Centre for Chinese Medicine and specialises in fertility & pregnancy acupuncture. I had her recommended by Carly when I had a miscarriage (as Carly was my midwife and will only work on you in one capacity), so I first went to Suzanne 1 week after miscarriage. I got pregnant again 2mths after it and credit a lot of the success to the weekly treatments I was getting from her, to help my body get back to normal and be ready to support another pregnancy. I'm now 9 weeks and still going weekly.
