yeah i just read they dont do invercargill either yet oh well. Any advice on who has the best rates would be good tho. At our flat we always went with contact and i enjoy the flybuys points but i have been given the impression they are the most expensive power provider.

Powerswitch is awesome. We ended up swapping to Meridian and saving loads! I do want to try Powershop though when it gets to our area.

We've signed up to Powershop, well technically DH did , he was trying to tell me all about it the other day but I can't remember any details as was feigning interest as I was trying to watch tv According to DH we're going to save loads. Got an email and we start 14 May, I think they have to give you current power company a month's notice or something?

Is anyone on here actually signed up for Consumer? Otherwise it won't give out the gas comparisons, only electricity.

We signed up for Powershop earlier in the week, they think we can save $250 a year. It's just a shame they don't do gas, as Contact has just bumped up their gas price again.
A lady working on behalf of Powershop came to CG this morning to use us as a focus group. A lot of her points about it made sense.

We signed up for Consumer and their advice on gas and power made a big difference to our power bill. We've saved heaps by switching to having heating, hot water and the oven on gas. The central heating is on all day, every day and I run the dishwasher, washing machine and often the drier all the time and we pay less than $200 a month - which is pretty good, isn't it? (I'm only comparing to what the bills used to be.)

I just asked DH and we were paying 29c per unit for electricity with Contact, and we're now paying 16c per unit through Powershop.
