How long will this last? I'm planning to use these until I received the MCN hire kit, then decide which nappy system works for me. - I'll have the hire kit from Dec - Jan so bubs will be approx 6-8 weeks old by then. I've got a couple of coupons for the jumbo box and trying to decide if I'll get through 2 of them before needing the next size up. |

Do keep in mind that your bubby might not gel with Huggies and it would be such a shame to have a couple of massive boxes of nappies you cant use!!! DS was fine with some brands, others leaked, some irritated him.
I think the general consensus is newborns go through around 5 to 7 disposibles per day, I think thats right!!!!

We have nearly finished the second box that i bought, DD was 3.1kgs at birth, so two boxes lasted 4 weeks. I am going to move up to the next size now.

We went through about 80nappies all up of newborn by the time DD was about 5weeks I moved her into the infant as it fit better round her legs and she had less leaks. A pain as I had a brand new box of newborns still to be used. Luckily I could give that to my brother for his son |

We had a box of Huggies NB which for memory lasted about 3 weeks (approx 8 nappies a day, or there abouts). Bare in mind baby's weight too. They only go to 5kg, so depends on bubs birth weight and also how fast he/she gains weight.

You go through more if you baby likes to poo in a clean nappy I change Camerons nappy that she has pee'd, and i can guarantee that if she needs a poo she waits for the clean nappy |

I found the huggies under 5 kg jumbo box lasted me about 18 days, so quite a while, but then again I check bubs nappies quite regularly!
And like Kicker, Lily likes to poo in a clean nappy which often is why we go through 10 nappies some days!

Lily was born 3kg and at 6 weeks is only 4.5kg so they still fit her, but now I prefer the next size up as I can do them up a bit tighter and she doesn't leak as much.

When we checked out pricing etc a few weeks ago, it was actually cheaper to buy the 30 packs from the supermarket than the boxes from any place that we looked at. May be something to check out. |

I agree with Rovic - I have always found the 30 packs to be cheaper.
Plus I have always been able to return unused packets to the supermarket to swap for the next size up.

Also be aware that some baby's like to poo more than others - my wee boy can go through 3 nappies in a feed!

I only ever buy the boxes when they're on special, which makes them cheaper - $36.95 from the Warehouse, or $39.99 from the supermarket. A box lasted just over a week for us (for 2 babies of course).

I was going through about 10 nappies at one point. DD was only in NB for 2-3 weeks and then went to the next size up, so yeah, if you are expecting a larger baby, keep that in mind.

Hey. As said earlier only get the jumbo box when on speacial for under $40 dollars from countdown or warehouse. Countdown ave this special every few weeks.
However Pack and Save do the 30 packs of NB nappies for $10 on special so always look out for those too. I had a voucher for $5 off the jumbo box so i got them for $34 which i thought was good. Then i am going to buy 2 or 3 more 30 packs from pack and save when i see them on special. But i am expecting to have a smallish baby as it is my first and both DP and I were little babies.

That's what I was planning on doing - I also got some vouchers in my bounty pack to use.
