   Matamata is a lovely place to drive through. DS1s Dad lives there and he goes for the holidays, and loves it. It's got that small town feel to it. |

   Oh my dad works in Matamata, and My dh went to intermediate and High school there. I know heaps of people that went to the high school, Casey Williams from teh silver ferns, um Grant Mcquoid who plays for waikato or BOP rugby, I think.
 My best friend went to the Christian school there and got kicked out for hitting another girl. lol she was like 5 at the time and is the sweetest person you'd never thought she'd do that.

   Hey bumblebee - one of the girls at work grew up there, so asked her thoughts...below was her reply - hope this helps!!
 Well I had a very enjoyable time there and I would definitely be happy to move back and bring a family up there. There are a lot of horsey people there so quite a bit of money in the place.

 Primary School wise I would probably say Matamata Primary would be the top public Primary school followed by Firth Primary School. Otherwise another really good one is Hinuera School which is a couple of minute drive out of town (there is a bus out there daily).

 Matamata Intermediate & College were great and always had a good academic record and the numerous sports stars of course!!

 I would probably avoid;
 -George St
 -Western St
 -Elizabeth St
 -Central & Barnard st’s
 -Waharoa

 Nice Areas;
 -Tawari St
 -Findlater St
 -Rata St
 -Sheffield St/Station Rd (nice family areas-close to schools)
 -Eldonwood (pretty fancypants!)
