   Coffee Cake Fail!
It came out nice but I tried to take it out of the tin still hot. Then I tried to use water to call the tin down. Water got on the sponge. I treated it like a puzzle and stuck it back together with white icing, before dosing it in coffee icing on top. Imagine how much coffee was in the icing to make it that colour.......

Still looks delicous to me Don't worry. I made Banana Loaf a few weeks ago and didn't leave it in the tin long enough to cool. When I tried to shake it out onto the rack the top opened up like an envelope and all the filling fell out.
(I just shoved it back in and closed it back up. DH didn't seem to mind at all) |

You know, in my family growing up, we NEVER had baking failures - we had "custard cakes"! Your cake was MEANT to be eaten hot, with custard and icecream for dessert!

Hehe, awesome! I baked a chocolate cake last night, and after taking it out of the oven I left it 10mins like the recipe said. Only problem was that as soon as I took it out of the tin it collapsed in the middle lol, because the middle was still liquid But I served it hot with cream and DH said he loved the chocolate sauce I made to go with the cake |

I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Was intending on taking it to work to suprise the ladies, but took it out of the tin far too early (like as soon as I took it out of the oven) and it looked much the same as yours.
I ate it most nights for the next week or so heated up with ice-cream - YUM! |
