I am looking into a teething necklace for our little girl but am not sure what I should be looking at and if they are any good?
Any advice would be great

Both my boys have them. Jakes got a really dry face almost eczema and its cleared up plus hes not got an ear or chest infection sice he started wearing it which is unheard of for us at this time of year.
Tyler is teething but the necklace went on and all grottiness disappeared. Didn't do much for the dribbling but hes much more content!!
We got them of trader Shezza108 on TM. SHe was awesome and when one of the necklaces proved faulty she replaced it immediately.
I think they're great - even just to look at

Oh you need the real baltic amber coz thats what has the succinic acid, you want silk thread thats made to break under pressure and uhmmm yep thats all the actual advice I can think of

Make sure it's abltic amber, and knotted between each bead. My daughter has worn one since she was about 6 months old, and it seems to work (I'm too scared to take it off!).

Update - both boys have really nasty colds but no grottiness, and their ears and chests are totally fine which abit unheard of for Jake lol hes normally super-prone to infection!
ETA totally missed a word lol...

my boy's been wearing one since about 4 months and we've had none of the issues other people talk about with teething. Plus his drooling (he used to be like an Alsatian!  ) cut right back almost immediately... we lost it at one point and the drooling came back so too scared to take it off now. plus it looks super funky

My niece is 15 months and has worn one since she was about 5 months. My sister swears by it.
gypsynita - interesting that it reduced dribbling - my son dribbles something shocking! It might be time I looked into getting one for him!

I saw on the news last night that these are in the gun a bit from Ministry of Health, with warnings not to let kids sleep with them. And some scientist was saying that to extract any benefit you'd have to heat the amber to 200 degress.

But then again some things do work for no real reason nd people swear by them. Doesn't copper get used for pain relief, so why not? My jury's out on this.
Having something round the neck scares the beejesus out of me, and even if easily breaking i'd worry about choking on the beads. I wondered if there were other alternatives, like amber teething rings?

You can get bracelets / anklets as well so you dont have to put a necklace on
I might look into one of those as well as I am like you and the necklace does make me nervous.

C's necklace came with a reccomendation to put it on his ankle for sleeping, which I do so if you can't find an anklet you can just wind a necklace round twice and tuck it under a sock.

I have had one on Cooper for about 2 months now. He still dribbles a lot and has really red cheeks but hasn't seemed too bothered by the whole thing just yet. I leave it on him all the time until his bath at night were it comes off and I don't put it on again until morning.
At this age I'm not at all worried about it being on his neck. Its always under his clothes so he doesn't even know its there, he can't grab hold of it at all. I still wrap him so he couldn't grab it when he's sleeping or unattended either. If for some reason it did break they are individually knotted so only 1 would come off.
So far so good really.
