Ok made these. They're pretty good. Not sure if they're right so I'll have to get my mum to be the judge.
Silly question. Do you freeze them uncooked or cooked?

Freeze them uncooked and it's not a silly question!
Can cook them from frozen, or thaw them!

My recipe is 450g grated cheese, 1 tin evaporated milk and 1 pkt onion soup mix. Just melt it all together, spread on bread and roll up. We usually cut 2 of the 4 crusts off to make rolling easier. Enough to make up 2-3 loaves of sandwich sliced bread.
This is the same as I make them I craved these when we moved back up to new plymouth from winton and managed to convert a few friends to the pleasure that is "THE CHEESE ROLL' yummm we are of to invers at the end of the month might have to find some cheese rolls |

ooh I'm going to try this recipe next thanks!
Why don't you buy pre grated cheese?

With the last lot I cut the crusts off and used those for breadcrumbs and also croutons.
