I am trying to get together some recipies for dinners for my family.
I have a husband, 12 year old and a nearly one year old. I am not a very good cook so any simple, cheap meals you have would be much appreciated. I do have a slow cooker...

 TIA

All it is, is practice and confidence, so don't worry about being a bad cook, just wade in there and give it a go!
In terms of cookbooks I can recommend the Destitute Gourmet, and I have heard great things about Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food book (apparently great with the basics for novices). When I was first really learning to cook meals I had a "Food for Flatters" recipe book (possibly Alison Holst?) that was very useful.
For the slow cooker, there are heaps of threads on here with some great ideas, search results here . I've also been really enjoying the Healthy Food Guide website after kimmies recommended it.
 Good luck!

It's actually really really easy JD. Trust me. So much easier than thinking at the end of the day when you're tired 'eek what am I going to do for dinner tonight?!' lol

LOL.... I totally agree with Weegee's points - Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food book and the Healthy Food guide website are excellent.
You might want to also try foodinaminute.co.nz - great easy family meals that are put down step by step.
Also if you can do it, it is great to sit down once a week to plan out your meals on paper - so every night around 5pm you are not freaking out thinking what are we going to eat tonight , as you have your meals already planned out. It works wonders.
Alison and Simon Holst have some fantastic family cookbooks as well - especially "Inexpensive Family Meals" and "Quick and Easy 20 minute meals", which you can order off their website at - www.holst.co.nz. Another fantastic one is "Baby Food and Beyond" - which has a fantastic Lamb and Vegetable stew recipe that can be adapted to feed a baby, toddler, and adults.
 Good luck!
