   Hi girls,
During my pregnancy, I got slightly swollen fingers and sore joints (mainly knuckles) on my hands. Because of that, I took my wedding and engagement rings off.

How long after birth does the swelling normally take to go away? My fingers look fine, but I can't get my rings over my knuckles. And I really want to put them back on!!!

My worry is that they will never go back to normal and I might need to get them resized? Anyone got any experiences?

As for the rest of my - I am back in all my old clothes so it is only my fingers still being naughty!!

 Thanks in advance!

Hi Laurie, I had major swelling and it took about 3-4 weeks for my fingers and feet to go back to normal, but they did and now I can wear my rings (and my favourite boots!) no problem.
My mum ended up having to have her rings resized due to her fingers being permanently bigger, but that was after baby #4 |

I started fitting my rings again when Chloe was about six months old, but then I found out I was pregnant again and two weeks later I couldn't fit them again! So I only got to wear them for a few weeks |

I never had to take my rings off but they did get awfully tight. I found getting back to my pre-preg weight was what made them fit nice again. I didn't realise my fingers had put on weight lol

   6 months!! I hope not!!
I guess I'll give it a few more weeks before stressing out. DH gave me a beautiful eternity ring when Jackson was born (we're coming up to our 5th wedding anniversary as well), it's so disappointing not to be able to wear them!

You could put them around your neck, on a chain, for the meantime. That's what I did last pregnancy when my fingers felt naked!

I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight after 2-3 months but couldn't fit my rings over the joint.
I finally got them on at about 6 months after but I find when my hands are warm it is really hard to get over my joint so I will be getting them enlarged by 1/2 a size otherwise I won't fit them on over Summer.

The jeweller said that the ligaments in my finger have enlarged and woould have gone back to normal size by now if they were going to.

We are 10 weeks on from Hayden's birth and I can only fit my wedder as my E ring must be slightly smaller and cant fit over my knuckle joint. I'm 4 kgs lighter than pre preg weight so its definately a joint thing unfortunately and not fluid. I love my E Ring and so want to wear it again but in all reality it actually stands quite high and I'm worried I'll scratch bubs with it.   I'm going to wait a few more weeks and if it still doesnt fit will get it enlarged.
