Whats after IVF?

We have only tried one IVF cycle, but at my age, its a big deal going back for more. We are trying to figure out whats best. It'll cost another $11000+ for another cycle (we didnt have frozen embryos) and all the drugs etc.
On one hand I feel this is the last chance so go for it (after finding the money - somehow), but then I think, stop putting life on hold, move on and dont have a baby, to which my mind immediately responds and says that would be so very very sad. I know I wouldnt regret trying again in the long run, rather than always wondering what might have been...but it is a difficult and expensive process too.
Adoption is an option, even though the chances of getting a baby via that route (and before Im ancient) seems slight. We will get in the queue for that anyhow.
The big question right now is more IVF or not. What would you do if you were 41? I dont feel 41, I send 500 texts a month, wear size 8 jeans, and get id'd when buying wine....but unfortunately my reproductive bits dont care about all that.

I know that some of you in your 20s and 30s have eggs on ice, govt funded treatment etc, but I suppose even for you it might come to nothing?   
Id be keen to know what others whose IVF failed are doing, its difficult for all of us regardless of age.

Thanks Treen, Ive been thinking along those lines, but I am also worried about the upheaval of more IVF - the fact that it is emotionally taxing as much as it is physical, and so much else in life gets put on hold while you go through the process and have all that hope.

I get scared about future medical probs after messing with my hormones during IVF (cancer) and the financial strain..... etc.

Sometimes I think it might be better to leave it all to God / chance or both, and get on with my life. But then you see as soon as I type that, I feel sad about the idea of never having a baby...!
