We bought a smallish one a few years ago (maybe 3Lt) but it is only big enough for 2 lamb shanks So about to upgrade to a bigger one (6lt??). We just bought the Zip brand from Briscoes, but it has been fantastic - very reliable, so easy & yummy But don't pay the full price, wait until they have a sale on - over easter they were 60% off.

We have a white Sunbeam one. Can't remember how big in litres it is. My mum bought the same one around 15 years ago and they haven't changed the make of them since then as the one we bought last year is exactly the same. Onto a good thing I reckon - Mum's is still going strong.
Bought from Briscoes - I agree about the sales. We never buy anything from Briscoes that is full price as they seem to have a sale every second weekend! Haha.

I also totally recommend the Slow Cooker and Crockpot cook book by Joan Bishop too. Awesome, easy recipes in it.

We've got a large oval one which I totally recommend. The things that you should have are and Auto, Low, High and off setting. You could check the consumer website too.

We've got a large oval Russell Hobs one, recommend you get a bigger one - I can fit a whole roast in this one.

I also highly recommend getting one of the Holsts slow cooker cook books, they're invaluable for creating nice meals. There are two versions either one is great.
My MIL got my one with her Flybuys

Also agree with caliandjack on the Holst cook book, it is fantastic! We got ours on special from Whitcoulls though can't remember the price.

I have a goldair one from farmers. Got that on sale too. And have both the ailson holst books.
Briscoes DON'T have a sale only 4 days of the year. Christmas, easter cause they're not open and some other day. Sad aye.
