I don't think its that deep, didn't want to drive through it though cause it was moving really fast! The road is quite a bit higher than the paddocks. The fence you can see is new a couple of months ago but the little black dots on the other side of the sign are the tops of the old fence posts. Lucky the farmer moved his cattle yesterday. Those paddocks always flood but this is the first winter that part of the road has been sealed. They spent a long time, and probably a lot of money raising it.
We're in Woodhill, towards Helensville but we're lucky. We're WAY up the hill, by the trig station so we didn't get any of this thankfully |

Yep you should - if they're on the flat, they're most likely under water. Hope they're all ok |

That's Kiwitahi Rd. SH 16 is on the other side of all that water. Kiwitahi Rd is just past Woodhill School, on the right.

Yep SIL is OK. She knew exactly where you were talking about Esther when I said about the roads just being sealed recently, she said it floods there all the time when the tide comes in. She said Wharepapa is bad too.
They are surrounded by water apparently and the roller door blew off the shed but other than that they're OK.

Glad to hear all is ok I remember being a kid in Helensville and being in the car driving down the highway, watching people kayak through what used to be paddocks. I think the council thought they had it sorted, but the weather just proved them wrong lol

Ha ha. Yep - there is a back way, which will bring me out just past Kumeu. But I'm not going in. We have seven leaks and a million things to get dry Joys of living in a barn!! But DH thinks it was just the direction of the wind and the rain causing it to go up under the flashings.
I'm hoping for better weather tomorrow although I hear there's another storm coming.
