I asked the sonographer at the time if she can pick the gender at this early stage and she said no, but that sometimes you can get an idea but she never likes to say.
DH thinks that this image proves that the baby is a boy but surely if it was that obvious she would have told us? Can any of you scan experts out there let me know what you think? We don't mind what we are having but now that DH is adament he keeps referring to the baby as "he" and I have a strong feeling it's a girl so refer to it as "she" |

It sure looks like a boy doesnt it Where is the cord though, could it be the cord going down and under legs etc?

wow that pic is amazing! Could be a boy, if those were the "bits"I'd say boy over girl but it could be the cord as well.
 Definitely estimated guess here lol

That little bit between the legs looks like the 'nub' and pointing up is likely to be boy and pointing straight out or down is likely to be girl, i learnt that through my 12 weeks scan haha, so i reckon boy too |

Lovely pic :-) I hope you don't mind the detail here, but here goes.
My little angel was born 2nd trimester, he was only 16weeks gestation. He clearly had male genitalia by that age, but nowhere near as big as what you are seeing here in your scan picture. (no wonder daddy is proud!) I would say you are looking at the cord there, which also at that age is very narrow and thin. More like the size of an artery you find when carving a chicken. I hope that helps offer some insight.

Gotta love these scan pics though - they keep us guessing!!

I agree with KatieD sadly, for similiar reasons. I miscarried at fifteen weeks and it was difficult, but not impossible, to visualise the baby's gender. We got a different result after post mortem.
