What do you get sick of hearing? I am sick of people saying things like...
"If you just relax and don't think about it..."
"My neighbour tried to get pregnant for years then they adopted and voila! They got pregnant naturally because they weren't thinking about it"
"If you stop stressing it will happen" This from a Personal Trainer I spoke to today..
"I have some clients who lost weight and their husbands found them more attractive and they got pregnant naturally without having to do IVF"
GRRRRRR. Sorry to vent. We have male factor infertility so none of the above applies. |

Sorry to hear some people are being so ignorant! I don't think anybody can really comment unless they have been in your situation. Gosh, don't think I would be going to that gym anymore.

While TTC #1 we had the "just relax" After 2.5 years it drove me nuts. We were signed up for IVF. i focased that whole cycle leading up to IVF. then a day before starting got our BFP. My GP was like "told you, you needed to relax" arrrrgh so am with you on that one. My BIL made the comment "I hear having s*x makes babies". I cried after that comment

Took us 2 years to conceive DD, I git sck of hearing "my husband just had to look at me and I was pregnant!"- thanks for that!
"When are you going to start having children?)- the ones that didnt know I was on fertility treatment which we didnt publicise.
Now we are struggling with number 2 its "you better hurry up! You dont want a huge age gap!"
 Aaaarrrggghhh!

It is amazing what people will say. I am tired of being told mabye if DH and I get away for a weekend or go on holiday - a change of scenery might make all the difference!
My first IVF round I had my inlaws staying with us which wasn't the best timing. I got a lot of info for my MIL to read so she could understand what was happening but she declined, instead she decided to stick with the uninformed information a friend had given her who knew someone that knew someone that had done IVF and their experience was the worst ever!!!

It won't be an easy road you know - from my MIL the day after my ectopic was removed.
I understand she probably thought hard about what to say, and there is a reason why there is a 5 year gap between DH and BIL, but that was the last thing I needed to hear at the time, and I feel like it has come true.

In general my work mates and friends don't comment nearly as much as the men I used to work with. Most of our friends know about at least one of our losses - you don't lose four babies in the same year that most of your friends have their babies without word making it's way through the grapevine.

my worst comment was from my own father. I showed him and my mum a couple of blankets I had made for 'baby' (keeping myself positive and occupied) To which he said "but you guys can't even figure how to make a baby anymore". I know he thought he was funny but omg ......

Oh Weetie, that would have stung .
Some of these are just shocking, I know people always want to 'say something', and have a tendency to try to fix things .. but still (!)
I think the worst I've had is from my ex SIL, 'some people aren't meant to have children, it's natures way' ..
And, after taking 2.5 years to conceive DD, when pregnant with her were told over and over that having a baby 'fixes' things and it will happen easily the second time. Yeah right!
